On February 7, 2024, four trainees dispatched by CMAC to Japan in mid-January 2024 held an exhibition of their work after being trained in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. This non-permanent photo exhibition is on the theme of “Peace Path of the Kingdom of Cambodia.”
The exhibition showcases more than three decades of war in Cambodia and the millions of landmines and munitions left over from the legacy of war, as well as the core activities of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), which has played a key role in clearing landmines and explosive remnants of war and releasing cleared land for the people since 1992.
In order to contribute to peacebuilding in Cambodia, CMAC also plans to construct a museum, the “Techo Peace Museum,” to promote the dissemination of complete peace in Cambodia, not only for the people of Cambodia but also for the world.
From January 15 to February 8, 2024, the four participants completed their short-term study on the management of the Peace Museum, which is a part of the JICA Technical Cooperation Project “Establishment of a Museum for Awareness of Human Peace and Security through Mine Action.”

The opening ceremony for the special exhibition was attended by the CMAC representative, H.E. Oum Phumro, Deputy Director General of CMAC, as well as the representative from Okinawa Prefecture, the president of the Okinawa Peace Museum, the chief of JICA Okinawa center and the president of OPAC.
