On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the CMAC’s Phnom Penh Headquarters, there was a handover ceremony of a SANY-brand excavator. The donation was made through the generous cooperation of the Chinese foundation PEACELAND. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Song Ximei, Rescue Manager of SANY Foundation Philanthropy; Mr. Qui Lili, PEACELAND’s appointed representative; Mr. Lu Hua, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SANY in Cambodia; and other corporate leaders. The delegation was accompanied by Senior Colonel Sheng Dazhi, Chinese military attaché to Cambodia, and the second secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, as well as Dr. Chea Monyreth, chief of the Cambodia-China Development Research Association.

During her speech at the ceremony, Ms. Song Ximei conveyed her sincere admiration and commendation for the outstanding work of CMAC, acknowledging leadership in the field of mine clearance in Cambodia. She noted CMAC’s crucial role in significantly impacting the reduction of landmine risk and unexploded ordnance (UXO), as well as in transforming cleared land into safe and productive areas for local communities. She stressed that such efforts have not only contributed to public safety but have also played a key role in improving socioeconomic conditions, promoting rural development, and strengthening community resilience. Ms. Song further remarked that this donation represents the initial phase of cooperation between the PEACELAND Foundation and CMAC. She expressed optimism that this partnership will attract further philanthropic and investment support from China in the future.

In response, H.E. Heng Ratana, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as the Director General of CMAC, expressed profound gratitude to the government and people of China for their enduring commitment to Cambodia’s mine action efforts and national development following the country’s attainment of lasting peace. He offered special appreciation to the Chinese PEACELAND Foundation for its dedicated efforts in securing vital equipment to further Cambodia’s demining and rural development goals. H.E. affirmed that this generous contribution would greatly strengthen CMAC’s ability to support communities, restore safe land, and promote sustainable development in mine-affected regions across the country.
