On 9 July 2025, CMAC officially concluded a three-day workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of its officers at CMAC’s Phnom Penh Headquarters. The closing ceremony was held under the esteemed presidency of H.E. Heng Ratana, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as the Director General of CMAC. The workshop, which commenced on 7 July 2025, was attended by 6 Demining Unit Managers, along with 45 technical officers from relevant departments. Throughout the three-day session, participants engaged in knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities, with a particular focus on enhancing the competencies of specialist cooperation officers involved in field-level mine clearance operations.

The workshop addressed 11 key agenda items, which were discussed in alignment with the recommendations provided by the CMAC Director General on 26 June 2025. The intention of this mill was to further enhance the effectiveness and safety of mine and UXO clearance operations, with a particular focus on improving the operational techniques of specialist teams to ensure the highest standards of professionalism and capability. The workshop also provided a platform for participants to share experiences and challenges and to review the strengths and weaknesses observed during past operations in each unit.

Targeted guidance was offered to address identified gaps, with the aim of strengthening accountability, management practices, discipline, and strict compliance with CMAC’s rules and regulations. In his remarks at the closing ceremony, the CMAC Director General expressed his sincere appreciation and commendation for the Department of Planning and Operations, all relevant departments, and the officers and staff who actively participated in the workshop. He emphasized their important contribution to the mission of clearing mines and returning safe land to communities affected by mines and explosive remnants of war—an essential component of national development in cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
