The consultative meeting on strengthening cooperation and arranging an official handover of buildings donated by the Government of Japan

On March 10, 2026, at the CMAC Headquarters in Phnom Penh, I met with Mr. Sanui KAZUMASA, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Cambodia Office, along with Mr. Yushihiro ABE and Mr. Kento HIJIKAWA, representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, and their colleagues.

The consultative meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and arranging an official handover of buildings donated by the Government of Japan, particularly the 'Peace Building.' It is vital to note that this peace building, designed in the shape of the world's largest anti-personnel landmine, symbolizes the commitment of both governments and their people to the strict implementation of the Ottawa Treaty. Furthermore, this building aims to enhance human resource capacity in the mine action sector and promote a culture of peace for humanity.

It should be noted that CMAC is committed to organizing this museum in alignment with the project's goals by promoting the culture of peace and fostering excellent friendship and cooperation."
