CMAC Closing Ceremony of the Training of the Core Trainers Course
On the afternoon of Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the CMAC Headquarters in Phnom Penh, H.E. Heng Ratana, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of CMAC, and H.E. Dr. Set Seng, Director of PTEC, presided over the closing ceremony of the Pedagogical Instructor Training Course, under the technical cooperation of the Project for Strengthening Organizational Functions of CMAC, supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This training course is part of a technical cooperation project between CMAC and the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College, with funding from JICA. The project focuses on building the capacity of CMAC instructors with pedagogical skills to conduct training at the Technical Institute of Mine Action in Kampong Chhnang Province.
This initiative is a vital part of CMAC's institutional capacity-building by equipping its instructors with professional pedagogical skills across three specialized areas: General Pedagogy, Training of Core Trainers, and Internal Quality Assurance. The training program has achieved significant milestones, successfully completing two sessions to date. The first batch of 62 instructors graduated in 2023, while the second batch of 20 instructors concluded their studies on February 21, 2026. The recently concluded Teacher Trainer Specialist Training Course ran from January 25, 2024 to February 21, 2026. As a result, 18 outstanding trainees successfully graduated.
During the training, trainees went through several important stages, including: teaching and lesson planning, instructional design and assessment, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), practical teaching evaluations (Practicum), and a successful thesis defense. Notably, the final stage of the course introduced trainees to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI tools) to assist in their research endeavors. Through the results of this training, it has been confirmed that the professional capacity of teachers in the CMAC unit has been well developed. The trainees who completed this course will become important resources to provide training to other officers and technical staff, ensuring that CMAC’s mission to serve the nation remains efficient and effective. To conclude the ceremony, both the Director General of CMAC and the Director of PTEC presented certificates to the trainees and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for ensuring the project met its planned objectives.
