The course focused on "Technical Skills in Leading Operations for Landmine and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) Survey, Level 3." This training course is a vital foundation for frontline management leaders, organized for the first time based on the Cambodian National Qualifications Framework. According to the summary report of the training results, Mr. Chin Bunran, Manager of the Technical Institute of Mine Action, confirmed that the 92-day course was divided into four stages. A total of 35 trainees participated (11 females and 24 males) from all demining units and the Phnom Penh Headquarters. The training included 14 core subjects, such as: • Frontline Management and Leadership • Operational Force Integration Procedures • Field Inspections • GIS Systems • Baseline Survey In addition to technical skills, trainees studied mine risk education, first aid level 2, human resources statutes, and various administrative procedures. Trainees who completed the training were assessed as having full capacity to apply their knowledge and experience to support CMAC operations with quality, safety, and high efficiency. The organization of this training course is part of CMAC’s human resource strengthening strategy to move toward the goal of a mine-free Cambodia and to minimize the danger of explosive remnants of war. This is particularly crucial in areas heavily affected by shelling and bombings by the Thai military during the war of aggression in 2025.
