H.E. Heng Ratana presided over the closing ceremony of two different courses
At the CMAC’s Technical Institute of Mine Action in Kampong Chhnang province on January 6, 2024, H.E. Heng Ratana, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of CMAC, presided over the opening ceremony of two different courses. The first course is “Aerial Bomb and Cluster Munition Survey Refresher Course,” which was attended by 56 trainees, who will take 3 weeks on 4 subjects, and the second course is “Training of Trainers Course” with a number of 20 trainees who will spend 19 weeks on 7 subjects. The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistant Authority, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Hatfield Consultans. The purpose of the refresher course is to strengthen the technical capacity of CMAC officers to prepare for the implementation of aerial bomb and cluster munition survey operations in certain provinces, such as Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, and Siem Reap. At the same time, in order to support the smooth and successful operation, CMAC has also developed technical equipment, standard cluster munitions survey, and database systems. Speaking at the opening ceremony, H.E. Director General reminded all trainees to pay much attention to the training and do their best to obtain new knowledge to be utilized for the shake of themselves and the institution.
